Are you buying wood by the truck bed load along the roads? STOP!
FYI. A rank of wood is 4 ft x 8 ft x 16 inches and that is approximately 42.67 cubic feet. These ranks, even with crossed ends, are a minimum of 4 ft. 4 inches x 8 ft. 4 inches x 18 inches (probably more like 20 inches). So, these stacks are in the range of 54 cubic feet.
I will always make sure a buyer receives more than a rank of wood regardless of how it is stacked.
You need to be buying wood that is measured out per rank or cord! No guessing as to if you are getting what you are paying for when it comes to buying wood.
Good quality wood for sale by the rank or by the cord. $50 per rank or if you take 1 or more cords, $140 per cord. Wood is on average 18-20" long. This wood is stacked up off the ground and is easily accessed from a gravel road. The wood in the attached pictures is green and was just cut this fall after the sap had went down.
Some dry wood is available, however it is cut to outdoor furnace length at 28", however it can be cut down and split if needed. Approximately 1 cord available. $160.
